Guardian to Close Floreffe, Pa., Plant

Guardian Industries Corp. plans to close its Floreffe, Pa., float glass plant in 2015. The plant currently produces dark tinted privacy float glass (PrivaGuard and MidnightGray II) for automotive and commercial applications, and Guardian intends to shift that production to its Carleton, Mich., float glass plant. Guardian Sells Two Automotive Glass Subsidiaries; Retains Custom Glass Solutions

The deal by Guardian Industries Corp. to sell Guardian Automotive Products (GAPI) and Guardian Automotive –E S.A. (GA ESA) to Central Glass Co. Ltd., parent company of Carlex Glass Co., is just the latest move by the company to reduce its automotive glass footprint. Central Glass Group to Expand Carlex Business by Purchasing Two Guardian Subsidiaries

Central Glass Co. Ltd., a parent company of Carlex Glass Co., has resolved to conclude a share transfer agreement to acquire all of the outstanding shares of two subsidiaries of Guardian Industries Corp.—Guardian Automotive Products, Inc.
