Rhode Island Updating Licensing Regulations for AGRR Companies

The Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation is revising its more than decade-old licensing regulation to reflect a new law (http://www.glassbytes.com/2015/06/rhode-island-department-of-business-regulation-to-license-agrr-companies/) that was passed by the state legislature last year. The department has scheduled an Automotive Glass Industry Working Group meeting on August 15 to discuss proposals for the revised regulation that will oversee AGRR company licensing. Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation to License AGRR Companies

As of January 1, 2017, automotive glass repair and replacement companies in Rhode Island will need to be licensed. The state’s General Assembly approved legislation this week (2015-H 5607A and 2015-S 0334A) called “The Motor Vehicle Glass Consumer Protection Act.” The bill is on its way to the governor’s desk for her signature. Houston Requires Licensing for AGRR Companies

Automotive repair facilities, including automotive glass repair and replacement companies, are required to be licensed in the city of Houston. Even if a company if based outside Houston, if its representatives enter the city to do work, they must be licensed, according to Lieutenant Dana Hitzman of the Houston Police Department.
