“I had the opportunity to go to the U.S. Open last weekend in Oakmont, Pa. Amazing event—especially for a ‘wannabe’ who has always had an appreciation for what it takes to get to this level. At least I thought I did.” —Mark Liston Continue reading
“My best friend, Greg, retired last Friday. Sixty years old and he was able to retire. I hired him in my previous life in 2003. (The same year I met my wife Mary Kay—a very good year!) He retired from that company—13 years and several positions later.” —Mark Liston Continue reading

“Waco, Texas, is in the news again. It isn’t about the Branch Davidians that has haunted Waco since 1993. It isn’t about motorcycle gang shootout from 2015. It is about Baylor University and the firing of the football coach Art Briles and sanctions to the athletic director as well as changes with school president Ken Starr.” —Mark Liston Continue reading

“It is March Madness. If you are like me your March Madness brackets were destroyed by day two. In Waco, Texas, our beloved Baylor team was beaten by Yale in the first round. Yes, Yale. The team who had never won an NCAA game and hadn’t been to the tournament for 54 years. ” —Mark Liston Continue reading

“Each year the keynote at the International Franchise Association Convention is someone of very high profile. I’ve had a chance to see, up close and personal, both President Bushes as well as President Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell and Mayor Giuliani. James Carville and Mary Matalin were disappointing, to say the least, as was Bill O’Reilly … who got even worse reviews from the 3,000+ people in the room.” —Mark Liston Continue reading
